Monday Mayhem

There has not been enough hours in the day for me to focus my attention on other things that I enjoy - such as blogging. I apologize for the lateness on my posts.
My dad celebrated his 65th birthday last Saturday. My sisters and I were very happy to see how many people attended to celebrate another milestone in our father's life. My mom requested to have mass celebrated at their home. The priest (his name escapes me for the moment) who gave the mass impressed me. I have not had many priests put an impact on me through their sermons. However, this Priest surely did. His words were so simple, humorous and flowed like water right into my ears. He addressed issues that many people forget due to our busy lives. Towards the end of the ceremony, the priest had requested for people to speak and say a few words to my Dad. As expected, my mom went first. It was short, sweet and simple. I was hoping for a longer monologue, but she may have been short of words at that moment. Believe me, for my mom to be short of words is unbelievable. Being the oldest one, I knew that my 2 younger sisters would not go first to speak. They gave me that "OH HELL NO, YOU GO FIRST" look. My speech was more of a short 2 sentence comment that ended up being said in a shakey & tearful manner. I thanked my Dad for being wonderful not only to me, my sisters and my boys, but most especially for being a life-time partner for my mom. That's when the tears began to flow. My youngest sister, Eliza took home the award for the most touching speech yet. Words of love began to pour out of her heart and accompanying them were tears, many, many tears. We all felt how much she loved our dad.
The party was a success! Everyone had a great time. I took several pictures, which I will edit and post very soon! There was a wonderful addition to what made my Dad's birthday memorable - Manny Pacquiao, the boxer from the Philippines, won his boxing match!!

Busy Bee

I've been absent for quite a while! Sorry! Life's been so busy with little things. It's not even big things! Just little things. I'm taking my boys to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach this Saturday. My younger one has been there with his school, but it was his suggestion that we go back because he didn't get to see ALL THE SEA CREATURES. It was actually a great suggestion being that Sean (my older boy) and I have not yet been there. I'll be taking my camera with my NEW lens, so we'll see how it turns out!! I'm quite excited!

Here are a few pictures I've taken about a month ago to share with you:

HUMP DAY

I find it wierd how I blog in the middle of the day, or in the morning. Blogging should be a reflection of events that occured throughout the entire day. Well see, I don't really have time to get on the computer when I get home. I have my boys, our dinner, their homework and their personal needs that I MUST (according to them) attend to. Also, to be quite honest, I have no interest in facing the PC again at home. I'm already infront of the darn thing for almost 8 hours a day. Usually, I'll just grab my book and catch up on some reading. I'm actually very proud of myself! In the past 2 months, I've read almost 2 books! I finished reading The Witch of Portobello by Paulo Coelho last month. I am now reading another book of his titled Eleven Minutes. His books are so inspiring and just so real. It always gives me something to think about, something to reflect on. I have 2 more books waiting for me to crack open. One of them is again by Paulo Coelho, Veronika decides to die and The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan. I picked up these books from Barnes and Noble about 2 months ago. Since I'm on vacation from school at the right now, I figure it's a good time to catch up on some reading.

So, AMERICAN IDOL SEASON FINALE'S TONIGHT! I've been watching that show after the 1st season it aired. Personally, I like the two DAVIDS, but I'm specially fond of DC. The ROCKER just takes the cake for me. It doesn't really matter who wins though. They are both really talented people. Like David Cook said yesterday, "the competition's pretty much over. It's all about having fun now!"

Monday Blues

I'm trying to stay positive. It's Monday and NOBODY likes Mondays. Well, maybe a few people do, but that isn't the point I'm trying to justify. LOL. It's almost noon and I can't wait for the day to be over. That is a shame! I just have a more positive work ethic. Work is work. We all have to do it if we want to live according to our means. I got my new lens but I haven't had a chance to use it. Actually, I have to play with it for a while. It's proven to be more complicated than it looks. *sigh*

I wish I had some pictures to share with everyone, but sadly, I don't. I'm hoping to have some to share before this week is over. We'll see if this heat inspires me.

In the meantime, enjoy Monday.
